The ROWAN CUNNINGHAM BAND featuring the Rowan Brothers – Chris and Lorin – and Sue Cunningham are now creating quite a stir in both the Americana and Bluegrass music scenes. The acoustic trio, working with guitars, mandolin and fiddle, is a musical tour de force with outstanding three-part harmony on original tunes that appeal to a broad audience.

The Rowan Brothers and Sue first performed together at HickoryFest in August 2008 and immediately they knew that were onto something special. They next played the Magnolia Fest in Live Oak, Florida to rave reviews which opened the door for performances at Suwannee Springfest, Gamble Rogers Festival, Huntington Folk Festival, and Levon Helm's Ramble among other notable venues.

Chris and Lorin Rowan were born and raised near Boston, Massachusetts where their brother Peter was already making a name for himself. All three brothers played in folk, bluegrass and pop bands. In the early ‘70s, through their brother’s connection, Chris and Lorin got hooked up with aspiring producer and instrumental wizard David Grisman. Before long, they all moved to “where it was happening” San Francisco, and they still reside there today. Both Chris and Lorin have released independent albums. Recently, Chris and Lorin have come full circle with the release of their new album "Now and Then" (BOS Music). They have appeared at the Kerrville and Telluride Festivals, and toured extensively as The Rowan Brothers (sometimes with brother, Peter) in the U.S. Europe, and Japan. They’ve performed on shows with Shawn Colvin, James Taylor, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Randy Travis, Alison Krauss, Nanci Griffith and others, as well as on NPR’s Garrison Keilor's Prairie Home Companion.

Sue Cunningham has been involved with music since she was five years old. She is also a practicing engineer and holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University. Through her performances and recordings with the international touring band Hickory Project and others, combined with her unique education in classical music, Sue has gained national recognition as a fiddler.

10 N.E. 3rd Street * Downtown Miami 33132

The Wallflower Gallery is going to be celebrating its 13th Year Anniversary with a full day fest of music, spoken word, visual arts and lots of creative interaction. This showcase will feature a wide variety of music, spoken word and dance performances as well as an Interactive Improv Finale Jam and live art. This is also going to be the LAST SHOW in THIS LOCATION! The building is scheduled to be torn down.

Over the last 13 years, The Wallflower Gallery has worked to bring people together with numerous artistic and social events. Mixing elements of creativity, education and community awareness, The Wallflower Gallery continues to strive for more recognition toward South Florida's emerging and established artists. As part of The Wallflower Gallery's 13 Year Celebration, we are reaching out to the visual artists, poets, dancers, musicians, comedians, philosophers and creative spirits who have invigorated this space and called it a home away from home. This celebration marks a distinctive history, but it also opens opportunities for the future. The Wallflower Gallery is more than a location or collection of artists. The Wallflower Gallery stands for many things, but expressing and sharing moments of meaning is the paramount principle.

As part of those connections, many friendships have been established and strengthened through significant interaction. As a location, this creative space often provided that foundation for those special times, while the warm essence of The Wallflower Gallery is enriched by the joy and comradery of those within. Right now as we transition out of the current location, we are already working on plans to RE-OPEN in a NEW LOCATION. There have been many offers and the potential locations seem to be abundant. Over the next couple of months, we will work to build up the financial resources to make The New Wallflower Gallery EVEN BIGGER & BETTER utilizing the knowledge and connections that we have accumulated over the last 13 YEARS to design a quality facility for the artists, performers and our South Florida community.

As part of the transition, we will be able to focus on developing Artists for Community Evolution as a non-profit organization. This will help us with grants, sponsorship and donations. This event will also be a fundraiser for The Wallflower Gallery to help us cover the moving expenses as well the cost of storage and we prepare for the NEW LOCATION! Donations can be sent to The Wallflower Gallery through PayPal.

There will be live music by Sweetbone, The Cornerstoners, Franklin's Wheel, Kuyayky, Raffa, Erica Sommer, Carl Ferrari, The Humdrums, Jenny Skylark, Ana Collado, Allison Lee, Lonesome Grey, Jose Tirado, Mandy Burgan, Christine Alexander, Beth Schwartz, Linda Reiling, Tom Schafer, Rachelle Coba, Jevon Olea and more. There will be spoken word by Alonso, Mark A.S., Carlton Buller, Darrell Davis, Carlos Miller, Adam Schachner, Heather Kashick, Zarifa, Jonathan Rose, Barbara Lang, Joe McNair, Oscar Fuentes and more.

There will be dance performances by Elviza, Stacy Oh and more. There will be live art by Linx and Anibal Fernandez. Plus there will be the Emerge Miami Bake Sale and the Interactive Improv Finale Jam. We hope you can join us and please spread the word!
